Drug Take Back Box FAQs
Disposal Box Information
Dispose of unused or expired medications in a safe, legal and environmentally friendly way through a new, permanent DEA-approved drug take back box on campus.
- Medications should be in their original packaging, or use a sealed zip lock bag for disposal
- It is not necessary to remove personal identification labels, but they may be removed if desired
- Only schedule II-V drugs can be disposed of in the box. No schedule I drugs may be placed in the box.
Location: Wilce Student Health Center Pharmacy
When: Monday - Friday 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
Okay for disposal:
- Schedule II-V Drugs
- Prescriptions
- Vitamins
- Prescription Ointments
- Pet Medications
- Prescription Patches
- Over-the-Counter Medications
Not permitted in disposal box:
- Schedule I Drugs
- Needles/Syringes
- Inhalers
- Aerosol Cans
- Thermometers
- Lotions or Liquids
- Hydrogen Peroxide

Students, faculty and staff can dispose of unused or expired medications in a safe, legal and environmentally-friendly way through a DEA-approved drug take-back box located within the SLSHS Pharmacy.
